President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday addressed Nigerians, especially the ENDSARS protesters on their agitations.
The protesters have been demonstrating against Police brutality and abuse of human rights by security operatives across the country.
Despite the dissolution of the SARS by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Muhammad Adamu, the protesters did not relent.
They resumed their protests on Monday and declared that they won’t stop until President Muhammadu Buhari addressed them to validate the disbandment of the police unit, commence efforts to reform the police and proscute eering perssonel.
In his address, Buhari said disbanding SARS is first step in his administration’s commitment to extensive police reforms.

He said, “the disbanding of SARS is only the first step in our commitment to extensive police reforms in order to ensure that the primary duty of the police and other law enforcement agencies remains the protection of lives and livelihood of our people.”
