Osun NNPP hails Oyetola for regulating Okada business

Osun state chapter of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has praised the state Governor, Gboyega Oyetola for taking measures to regulate activities of Okada riders.
The party described it as a bold step adding that it would reduce crime rate in the state.
News Boom had reported that the state government issued a two-week ultimatum to all commercial motorcycle operators to fully document with the government.
Governor Oyetola also limited their operations to 8pm daily.
In a statement issued by the state chairman of NNPP, Dr. Oluwatosin Odeyemi on Wednesday, the opposition party commended the step adding that some notorious elements are now using okada to perpetrate evil on the innocent citizens.

Hoping for full compliant by the okada operators, NNPP however cautioned the state government on outright banning of okada, noted its the only source of income for at least 40 percent populace.
He stressed that suspending okada operations in a state like Osun will surely backfire, as the end result will surely not be palatable for government and citizens at large.
