Indigenes of Mbu communities in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State have cried out to the state and Local Governments to provide basic amenities for the people of the community.
The sons and daughters of the land lamented the lack of clean water, equiped health facilities, good road, that dotted the community very long time ago.
They alleged that it appears that both state and local governments have abandoned the community.
Some of the indigenes who took to their social media handles to draw the attention of the Government to their plights expressed worry that the youths of the community now live to urban areas in large number owing to lack of factory or economic empowerment in the community.
One of those who narrated the ordeals being faced by the people of Mbu-Akpoti and Mbu-Amonu among other communities in the council, O. C. Matthew, asked the state Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and the chairman of Isi-Uzo Local Government Area, Hon. Jacob Abonyi to come to the aids of the community by providing good roads, health facilities, clean water and modern schools.

He wrote on the Facebook wall of Mbu indigenes: “Mbu have been abandoned both by the state and local government. There is no good road, no light, no clean water, no health facilities, no government presence at all in Mbu.
“Don’t we have representatives? Don’t we have councillors? Don’t we have local government chairman?? Why must Mbu look so abandoned?? We need basic amenities. Our youths can’t afford to be living in the village because there is economic empowerment.

“Aside okada, there is no source of income in Mbu; hence, people are always fast to leave immediately after secondary school certificate examinations. Mbu has become deserted because there is no source of income for the youths in the village. WE must speak up now!!! Enough is enough! Mbu Deserves Better!” He stressed.
Also speaking, Peter Chinedu expressed displeasure that Mbu has been backward in terms of infrastructural development in the past years. He stressed the need for virile leadership for the communities that would see to the needs of the people of the rural community.
For Ossai Emeka, nothing seems to be working in Mbu because state and local government have neglected the people of the community and have not fulfilled their electoral promises to the communities.
