Osun police arraign girl for stealing from hotelier

The Police in Osun state on Friday, dragged a 20 year old Joy Michael before an Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing from her boss.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Emmanuel Abdullahi, told the court that Joy, an attendant at TJ Guest House, Kosere area of Ile-Ife, stole the sum of N71,000 from the director of the guest house identified as Aniuntodun.
Abdullahi said Joy committed the offence on November 23, 2020 around 09:00 am at TJ Guest House.
He added that the defendant conducted herself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by stealing the sum of N71,000 without the knowledge of the manager.
According to him, the defendant ran away with the money which she knew could cause mayhem between the manager and Director of the Guest House.
The Prosecutor stated further that the offence contravened sections 249(d) and 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The Defence Counsel, Mr Okoh Wonder, pleaded for the bail of the defendant in liberal term and promised that his client would provide reliable sureties.
Magistrate Bose Idowu granted the bail of the defendant in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Idowu added that the sureties must swear to affidavit of means, resides within the court jurisdiction, address to be verified by the prosecutor as well as provide three recent passport photographs each.
The case was adjourned till January 15, 2021 for mention.
