Fatal crash claims radio presenter, one other in Osun
Two persons have died in a fatal motor accident along Ilesa/Ife expressway in Osun State.
One of the victims, Mr Sunday Alakinde was a freelance broadcaster with Uniq FM, a private radio station in Ilesa.
The other victim, it was gathered, was a male media apprentice who boarded a saloon car that was driven by Alakinde.
The crash was said to have occurred around 3:05am on Monday while Alakinde was returning to the station for his daily popular radio programme “Ojutole”.
Two other male passengers were said to have been in the crashed car with Alakinde. While the member of Freelance and Independent Broadcasters’ Association of Nigeria (FIBAN) and one occupant of the vehicle were said to have died on the spot, the third person was said to have sustained severe injury.

The crash was confirmed by Agnes Ogungbemi, the Public Relations Officer, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in the state.
 
Ogungbemi said that the crash happened around Rock Villa Hotel, Opposite Old  Sazo oil Ilesa.
She said the accident involved a blue-coloured saloon car with registration number SMK 312 GQ and a white coloured luxury bus with number plate LND 322 XY.
 
Ogungbemi gave the name of the luxury bus driver as Hueffa adding that the injured victim had been rushed to Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa. She added that the remains of the deceased had been deposited at the Wesley hospital morgue.
 
“The injured victim was taken to Wesley Hospital for medical treatment while the corpse deposited at the same hospital morgue.
