OSBC Marathon gets endorsements from stakeholders, dignitaries
All is set for the successful hosting of the 2022 OSBC/Macjey 10km road race as dignitaries and stakeholders across state and beyond have endorsed the race.
The race which holds on Saturday, January 22 has received boost from the state government with the endorsement by the Governor, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola through the Deputy Governor, Mr. Gboyega Alabi.
Other stakeholders who have also endorsed the Marathon include the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Prince Wole Oyebamiji, Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Prof. Yinusa Olalekan, SUBEB Chairman, Hon. Qjibola Famurewa and Commissioner for Political Affairs and Inter-governmental Relations Mr. Akeju Taiwo and the Head of Service, Dr. Olowogboyega Oyebade.
Others are Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment and Sanitation, Hon. Rufus Akeju, Special Adviser.on Health, Dr. Olasiji Olamiju, Engr. Niran Ibitoye among others.
Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), Muideen Adeleke and the Secretary, Mr. Wale Idowu who appreciated the stakeholders for their endorsement, adding that the arrangement has been concluded for a hitch free event.
“We are grateful for the acceptance, endorsement and support for the race by the State Government of Osun and we promise that this year’s event will be best ever”, said Mr. Adeleke.
It would be recalled that over 600 athletes from across the country are expected to participate in the race, tagged ” Run for Consolidation” which is organised in support of the present administration’s efforts at discovering budding talents in athletics, keeping crimes at bay and promoting other sports in the state.
