An opposition party in Osun state, New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has lambasted the state government over the non-distribution of COVID-19 relief materials looted by residents of the state.
Some residents had on Friday invaded warehouses in Ede and Ilesa where food items meant for COVID-19 palliative were stored by the Osun Food and Relief Committee and carted them away.
But the committee said the palliative did not have any bearing with the state government and that they were not hoarded.
Notwithstanding, the political party has called out the State Government and its party, All Progressive Congress over the recent discoveries of the palliative at warehouses.

Describing the incident as an act of insensitivity towards the plights of the people of the state, the chairman of NNPP in the state, Dr. Tosin Odeyemi said “APC consists of callous set of people.”
Odeyemi noted that at a period when poverty is ravaging the entirety of the state, for government to keep such quantity of food in a warehouse is condemnable.
