EndSARS: We won’t adjourn your matters again, Osun panel tells petitioners, respondents

The Osun State Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Police Brutality, Human Rights Violations and Related Extra Judicial Killings on Saturday adjourned all petitions that it slated for hearing.
The panel, at it’s inaugural sitting on Thursday had annouced five different petitions submitted by victims of police brutality and other human rights violations.
The first matter mentioned was the petition of one Alhaji Dauda Adigun and another. The two petitioners were absent while a letter was received from their lawyer asking for an adjustment.
Counsel to the Osun State Police Commisoner, F. B. Osei, did not object the adjournment. The chairman of the panel, Justice Akin Oladimeji (retired) adjourned the matter till November 21 for hearing.

The second case involving one Amos Odeyemi was also adjourned till November 21 after Osei said he was served the petition on Friday evening and that he needed time to go through it since the incident happened between 2003 and 2004. The petitioner and his lawyer were present.
The last petition submitted by one Elusanmi Kolawole against the Ogun State Police was adjourned till December 11. Justice Oladimeji ordered that the CP of Ogun, AIG Zone 11 and Magbon Olive Division be served a notice.

Addressing Journalists after the sitting, Justice Oladimeji said parties and counsels could only enjoy two adjournments adding that the panel had received more petitions.
He warned the parties against time wastefulness saying these adjournments would be the last.
