By Oluwaseun Omolola
Osun State Contingents under the leadership of the General Manager, Osun State Sports Council earlier this morning arrived at the University of Ilorin, the venue of the 6th National Youth Games where they would jostle for Medals against other 35 States of the Federation as well as the FCT.
After the arrival, the General Manager, Osun State Sports Council, Mr Rotimi Dunmoye admonished all athletes and players to give their best for the state and make the State proud of them.
“Governor of the State, Mr Gboyega Oyetola has invested a fortune into sports over the past few years since he assumed office and the only way we can pay him back for the investment is by winning medals for the state.”

“We must try as much as possible to better our Medal haul of the last edition. We are trailblazers in Osun State when it comes to Sporting activities,” Dunmoye said.
In his remarks, Director of coaching and Training, Osun State Sports Council, Mr Demola Daini charged the players and athletes to go for gold as they are not in Ilorin to make up the numbers nor are they there for jamboree but rather for the business of winning laurels for the state.
Osun State athletes and players have as a matter of compulsion joined other States in the screening exercise which has commenced in earnest.
Osun State will be participating in various Sports ranging from football, Basketball, Tennis, Table Tennis to Taekwondo, Karate, Chess, weightlifting, athletics, aquatics, para-atheletics among others.
