By Oluwaseun Omolola
It was a keenly contested round of 32 match of the AITEO Cup between Osun Babes FC and Moje Queens which ended 2-1 in favour of the Omoluabi Queens.
Mariam Abdulkabir who started down the left flank was a thorn in the flesh of Moje Queens from the blast of the whistle.
It was however Moje Queens who took the early lead in the 19th minute as Toyin Ojeyemi snatched the ball from Kemi Abiodun to slot pastĀ  Elizabeth Nwachukwu into the net.
Their lead only lasted six minutes as Mariam Abdulkabir was brought down in the area after beating her marker. The foul left the referee with no choice than to point to the penalty spot. The resultant penalty was coolly converted by Faith Samson.
A nervy moment came in the 34th minute when the goalkeeper of Osun Babes, Elizabeth Nwachukwu lost the ball cheaply to a Moje Queens striker who could only hit the side net with only the net to beat.

In the second half, it was Mariam Abdulkabir ravaged the defense line of Moje Queens with her mesmerizing display. One of her displays led to a freekick which was played by Obianuju Akubo but Marcus Grace couldn’t direct her header towards goal.
In the 64th minute, Marcus was the culprit again after failing to connect with a beautiful cross from Abdulkabir.
Osun Babes finally got reward for their display in the 66th minute when Kemi Abiodun met a well delivered corner kick from Eberechukwu Oleka with a wonderful half volley to give her team the lead.
Moje Queens however, didn’t give up as they tried everything possible to unlock the iron gate of Osun Babes but to no avail.
In the dying minutes of the game, the midfield trio of Akubo Obianuju, Bolaji Olamide and Oluchi Okwara did well to dictate play as Osun Babes dance into the round of 16 of the AITEO Cup.
