Ajisafe becomes substantive PDP South-West vice chair

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party has ratified Barr. Kamorudeen Ajisafe as the substantive Vice chairman of the South-West PDP.

Ajisafe, popularly known as ‘Kosolowe’ would lead the party in the zone comprising Osun, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Ekiti, and Lagos States.

The party leaders gathered on Thursday to fix the hitherto vacant position caused by the death of the former Vice Chairman, Soji Adagunodo.

Late Adagunodo, who hailed from Osun State, died in May, 2023 after a brief illness in the United States of America.

The unilateral decision to fix the Southwest Vice Chairman was ratified and supported by the leadership of the party from the six states of the South-West region of which the apex body reportedly concurred with.

The party leaders in the region agreed to work for the progress of the party and the leadership of Ajisafe who is also an indigene of Osun State.

The apex leaders also canvassed for the unity of the party and urged all members across board to support the affirmative agreement of the South-West leaders.

In his remarks, the Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke expressed his pleasure on the move of the party leaders in the South-West, saying PDP is back and ready to work together as one.

His counterpart in Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, promised to immortalise Adagunodo.

In attendance at the meeting were Makinde, Adeleke, former Governor of Osun State, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, former Governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko, former Senate President, Adophus Wabara, Owokoniran, the Senate Minority Leader, Olalere Oyewumi, Senator Olujinmi, Ambassador Taofiq Arapaja, Barrister Kamorudeen Ajisafe, Alh Rahman Owokoniran, Ladi Adebutu from Ogun State, Osun State Speaker, Adewale Egbedun, the South-West Executives, serving Senators in the South-West states, the six state chairmen and former Senators.
