Fake lawyer arrested in Osogbo after visiting Police station to secure suspect’s bail

The Osun State Police Command said it arrested a fake lawyer, identified as Muhammed Aliyu Agbaje.
The Police Commissioner, CP Olawale Olokode, while parading the suspect on Saturday in Osogbo, said Agbaje was arrested after visiting Police station in Osogbo to secure the bail of a suspect.
The suspected fake laywer, aged 35, was said to have been found with fake Identity card of the Federal High Court, Osun State chapter, charms and lawyer’s apparels after a search was carried out at his residence.
Olokode said the suspect claimed that he was working with a chamber in Ibadan but it was later discovered that he lives at Owode Ede in Osun state.
“On 4th August, 2021 at about 11am, one Muhammed Aliyu Agbaje appeared at the CP’s Surveillance station, Obelawo Area, Osogbo to represent/seek for the bail of the suspect who was arrested for the offence of ‘threat to life.’
“The suspect claimed to have come from the chamber of one Barrister Adeleye in Ibadan but was detected to be fake and residing at Owode Ede in Osun State. Upon search, the above exhibits recovered from his residence.
“The suspect confessed to have been impersonating to be a lawyer and duping unsuspecting victims. He will be charged to court after the completion of investigation,” the CP said.
