Less than an hour after The Point Newspaper published a story of how a woman with disabilities in Osogbo, Osun State, Abibat Toyin Hammed was refused to leave the hospital over her inability to pay her hospital bills at Osun State University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, a group has come to the rescue of the indigent patient.

The group, Osun Youth Caucus (OYC), gave the woman the sum of N51,000 at the hospital ward on Friday to settle her bills.

After reading the report published by The Point, the kind gesture was facilitated by the Executive Director, World Institute for Peace, Lamina Kamiludeen Omotoyosi.

Presenting the cash to the woman with hearing impairment and intellectual disability, Omotoyosi said he reached out to the leader of OYC, Engr. Olalekan Badmus for assistance and he immediately responded by sending the money.

The Point had reported that Abibat was said to have been delivered of a baby at the hospital on Wednesday.

Sadly for the indigent woman, the baby died after birth.
