Osun May Day imbroglio: Concerned faction tenders apology

Truce may be on the the way towards resolving the imbroglio that engulfed the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees NULGE, Osun State Chapter during the last Workers Day celebration at Osogbo Township Stadium, Osogbo.

Recall that two factions of NULGE eyeing leadership positions in next year delegates conference of the association engaged in open confrontation on which two members sustained various degree of injuries.

The incident was thereafter reported to the police.

However, it was learn’t that one of the factions under Comrade Pius Onasakponme has tendered unreserved apology to the union and other government functionaries for the show of shame displayed on May 1st during the celebration of 2024 May Day programme, describing their conduct as unethical and untraditional.

He has therefore apologised for what happened on the faithful day despite the fact that election into various positions in NULGE, Osun State is a year away and promised that such incident will not repeat itself.

Comrades Pius Onasakponme and Tajudeen Alimi were fingered in the alleged incident in which two members of NULGE, Comrades Sofiat Raji and Femi Oyeleke were attacked by members of other faction.
