Suffering alleviation: Catholic bishop gives widows N1.1m

The Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese, Most Rev Stephen Dami Mamza has presented eleven thousand naira (N11,000) each to one hundred and four widows to alleviate their suffering as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
The beneficiaries are both Christians and Muslims.
The money presented to the widows is totalled one million, one hundred and forty-four thousand naira.
Bishop Mamza presented the package to the beneficiaries at the Catholic Secretariat, Jimeta Yola Wednesday.
He pointed out that the gesture was a collaboration between a non Governmental Organization, Caford and the Catholic diocese of Yola assuring that more would be given to others in need.

He advised the beneficiaries to make good use of the money.
The cleric called on farmers in the state to avoid selling off their farm produce as this year harvest fall far short of expectations and there could be food shortage next year.
The beneficiaries were from Namtari, Yolde Pate, Ngurore and Sangere of Yola South.
Some of the beneficiaries spoken to thanked Bishop Dami mamza for the gesture saying it will go along way in ameliorating their hardship.
