The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has called on the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to synergise with other security agencies to tackle the security challenges facing the country.
Oba Ogunwusi gave the charge at his palace while receiving the new Commandant of NSCDC, Osun State Command, Dr. Akintayo Adaralewa.
The Imperial Majesty, who called for strong collaboration among security operatives in the country, said this would make them to tackle insecurity as an indivisible entity, noting that no single security agency can do the work alone.
A statement issued on Friday by ASC Adeleke Kehinde, the Public Relations Officer of the Osun State Command of the corps, quoted the Ooni as saying that, “Osun state is relatively peaceful and as traditional institutions we will always support security agents to make the state safer. I also want to commend NSCDC personnel that work in the palace, they are dutiful, infact they are representing the corps very well.”
Earlier in his speech, Commandant Adaralewa explained that his visit to the frontline monarch was to seek for guidance, pay homage, receive royal blessings and support of Ooni to succeed in the task ahead.
“Kabiyesi, I am elated to be in your palace today, its actually a dream come true, I am here to ask you to support me, like you did to my predecessors through which they succeeded,” Adaralewa said
While highlighting his agenda for Osun State, the Commandant assured the monarch of an improved security of lives and property, saying his administration would pay more attention to issue of farmers/herders crisis in the state.
He assured that an era of crisis between herders and farmers would be a thing of the past as he is ready to work assiduously by deploying his Agro rangers personnel to flash points in the state
The NSCDC boss also reiterated the corps’ commitment in fighting the scourge of insecurity in the country while soliciting credible intelligence from members of the public.
