Federal Lawmaker Flags-Off Rehabilitation of Road in Osun
As yuletide is around the corner, the federal government of Nigeria has signified intention to rehabilitate all roads that posed as death traps, and also to give the rural dwellers a sense of belonging in the scheme of things
Hon.Taiwo Olukemi Oluga gave the advice in Ode-Omu, in Ayedaade local government area of Osun State, while flagging-off the rehabilitation of Lasole (mrd) road with the construction of its drainages on both sides of the ever busy but terribly bad road.
According to her, the federal government is leaving no stone unturned,to give Nigerians of all shades,devoid of sentiments,a sense of belonging in all fronts.
She implored Nigerians to exercise patience, whenever they are expecting dividends of democracy from all tiers of government,stressing that government will do the needful at appropriate time to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people.
Hon.Oluga, representing Ayedaade, Irewole and Isokan federal constituency maintained that the rehabilitation of about two kilometers Lasole-road will no doubt assist peasant farmers and rural dwellers in Lasole and it’s adjoining villages and communities in no small measure.
Hon.Taiwo Oluga who facilitated the rehabilitation of Lasole (mrd) road and the construction of it’s drainages from the national assembly,stressed that the road if completed,will assist motorists and cyclists to travel with ease from Lasole town to Iwo and Ede without any hitch.
She however expressed displeasure over two letters allegedly written to her earlier by some people of Ayedaade local government area of Osun state,who thought the money meant for the road project has been diversified into person use,stressing that funds meant for constituency projects can never be tampered with by any member of the National Assembly.
The flagg off of the road rehabilitation has invariably brought about unprecedented relief, the way of the dwellers of Lasole town and it’s adjoining communities and villages.
The road which has been serving the people of “Lasole”town from time immemorial,was in terrible state of disrepair and unmotorable,causing untold hardship,and preventing farmers and rural-dwellers from bringing farm produce to urban centres like,Ode-Omu and Gbongan among other nearby towns and villages.
According to the people of Lasole, the road project in question has been a mojor source of concern to the dwellers of ancient Town.
This invariably prompted Hon.Taiwo Oluga, on a visit to the “Olasole of Lasola” Oba Jacob Dairo about a year ago during “Lasole day celebration” later in Abuja wrote a memo on the said road rehabilitation and it was subsequently approved by the Federal government through the National Assembly.
At the colourful Programme which took place on Sunday the 28th of November 2021 at the ‘T’ junction of Lasole road, signified her interest and intention to support the second term bid of Osun State Governor, Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola.
She described Governor Oyetola as an easy going man and a silent achiever in all ramifications.
Hon.Oluga used the occasion to introduce the site Engineer Mr.Suleiman to the gathering who said the rehabilitation work will only last four weeks.
Hon.Oluga maintained that competent bill of quantity was approved by the federal government for the road project and not asphaltic over lay.
Speaking at the epock making occasion Chairman Ayedaade local government Hon. Ayo Toyosi,Olasola Of Lasole Oba Jacob Dairo onbehalf of the people of the ancient and the representative of Alayegun of Ode-Omu Chief Shittu Babalola showered encomium on Hon.Taiwo Oluga for remembering the ancient town’s only road for rehabilitation,the only major road that links Lasole with other towns like Iwo and Ede among others.
All other stakeholders of Lasole town like Pa Moyinwin Oladepo representing Oke-Ola Ode-omu, Secretary All progressives Congress APC in Ayedaade local government Mr.Soji Opa and Chief Kamorudeen Adesina from Lasole among others spoke in glowing tribute on the facilitator of the road project Hon.Taiwo Oluga for coming to their aid when the road has become a death trap and in serious level of disrepair,
there by ending their long sufferings and uneasiness experienced by the dwellers of Lasole with the road usage over the years.
They all commended the initiative of Hon.Taiwo Oluga and promised to support her in the next Political dispensation.
The people of Lasole and their neighboring communities in kampalanand Ankara uniforms,some in their T-shirt and face cap to match branded “OLUGA FOR OYETOLA” had earlier accorded Hon.Taiwo Oluga and her entourage warm reception amidst pomp and celebration into their mist and prayed God to give her enablement for a successful tenure,and to be able to impact positively on humanity at large.
It would be recalled that the bad state of Lasole road made it difficult for motorists and cyclists to ply the road with ease,there-by preventing rural dwellers from bringing farm produce to Ode-Omu and Gbongan among other big cities and towns in Ayedaade local government area of Osun State.
